Program Description
Join the team and experience what camp is like from a leader’s perspective. Develop teamwork skills and self-confidence while learning how to plan, organize, and manage a fantastic camp program. This hands-on experience will provide you with the skills needed to be an effective leader when working with children. CITs work closely with camp staff, assisting with daily activities at both Little Springs and Big Adventures summer camps. This is a rewarding experience for teens interested in working with children and serving as a role model. CIT’s who register for 8 weeks will have the opportunity to become a certified Babysitter.

American Red Cross – Babysitting Certification Course
Topics include:
- How to provide care for infants and children
- How to stay safe
- What to do in an emergency
- How to choose age-appropriate activities
- How to recognize and handle a variety of behaviors
Students will also learn the basics of starting a babysitting business. The course consists of six interactive modules featuring video activities, games, and tools babysitters can use to build their knowledge and skills and manage their babysitting business.
This course, which includes a final exam at the end, takes about 4 hours to complete. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a printable certificate.
Applicants will be invited to interview after registering.
